A love that never wears out is like...

Clothes that never go out of style. Catchy, huh? So here's the thing about this post, I'm recently (yeaaaaaah, so recent) tired with the everchanging trend. While I was just thinking and considering on some pieces of clothing to buy, the WHOLE world already shifted to something else. If I just keep mindlessly buying what's hot or what's in season, my money would flew away like yellow leaves on the burning sea, and so is my unique style. That's why I'm very (VERY) cautious of what I buy, always overthinking a little. Perhaps at the end of the day I end up buying nothing because nothing suit me.

Jesus Christ.

Nooo, I'm not complaining or anything (yeah right), it's just that sometimes I wish time would be nicer and slow down a little. Don't change too crazy much, please! My point is, I just wish there's something that stays, something that can last forever. Outfits that never go out of style. So the ideas of timeless style has always been flattering for me. That's why this post was made!

The casual chic, the timeless classic (white shirt, leather jacket, flared jeans, heels/flats)
Too lazy to dress up? Happens to me on a daily basis. Throw in your most comfortable white shirt, leather jacket, flared jeans, and heels (if you're feeling a little fancy) or flats (coffee shop much?). Oh and a tote bag to carry all your lady stuff. Here are some ideas (and where I found them)

White shirt: T-Shirt Jelena Mango.com
Leather jacket: Claire Leather Moto Jacket bebe.com
Nude pumps: MICHAEL KORS Women's York Platform Shoes.com
Red suede flats: Steve Madden Women's Vegasss Shoes.com

Warm and comfy (loose sweater, skinny jeans, boots)
The idea of a white shirt and skinny jeans always haunts me, but then again how do shirts stand against such weather these days? I'll just say that sweaters and jumpers really do the trick, you know, chic and all warmy comfy. Pair them with your boots and you're set. Maybe throw in your favorite big earrings as well?

Sweater: Oversize Ribbed Jumper Mango
Skinny jeans: Second Skin Jeans - Light Wash NastyGal.com
Boots: Madden Girl Women's Zandora Shoes.com

Cool and effortless (any oversized jacket/coat, loose fit top, ruffled shorts, ankle boots)
We all like to look cool, sassy, and oh-so-terribly chic at the same time. Right? Also throw in any crossbody bag you might have and voila!

Anorak: Enlisted Anorak NastyGal.com
Coat: Burgundy Flare Coat glassworks-studios.com
Ruffled shorts: Z Boys Cutoff Shorts NastyGal.com
Ankle boots: Becan Nude Suede betseyjohnson.com

There you go, hope you dig it! What's your kind of timeless style?

Matahari Fashion Award

Since this one concerns a local competition I'm entering, I'll post in Bahasa... for the first time! (I'll translate as well!)

So this time I'm entering a fashion blogger competition from Jakarta Fashion Week sponsored by Matahari Department Store, and of course I'm anxious (veeeery) to take part and win.

There's no particular theme for this competition, so I decided to take on the theme dearest to me... which is unique fun and cool casual. We're allowed to post 3 styles maximum, so I decide to create 2... well since there are two themes I want to do anyway...

Style #1 - Unique fun! Yay!

For those who wonder how awkward the photoshoot was... the answer is... yes, it was awkward, VERY. I'm pretty sure my level of appreciation for bloggers, models, and photographers has increased dramatically, perhaps from level 6 to 9.5 ; level 10 is solely for clean, uncorrupted goverment (which I know is a myth).

Style #2 - Cool Casual

Top - inner : Nevada

Jeans : Nevada Stylee
Shoes : Nevada

Well that's about it, I've mentioned how awkward the session was, right? My biggest gratitude goes for Agnes Tangka, a really great friend who helps in all situation, even though my mood swing is worse than a girl entering puberty, Dian Situmorang for being a very kind photographer, and Juli Purwantoro, for providing help with creative ideas and location.

Cheers!

Eyeshadow Illustration (inspired from Rebecca Minkoff Spring/Summer 2013)

In case you haven't seen the RM S/S 2013 collection, take a little sneak peek. Anyway, I'm entering a competition for Rebecca Minkoff shopping spree. Sweet holy Jesus right? If you're a blogger you can check it out here, OR if you're a non-blogger, you can also enter the competition  here.

That being said, I'm creating a post inspired by her fabulous collection. I had no clue what I was going to create in the first place, so I just did what I really (I MEAN REALLYYYY) love to do, illustrating.

Yup, illustration. The illustration I did was made pure by markers, fineliners, and, guess what? Eyeshadows. Okay, to be honest, I did use Adobe, but only because my scanner was shit and the color went all dull when I scanned it, so I adjusted it to my real drawing color.

I decided to draw a cropped jacket with pattern gradient towards the bottom. For the pants, it's a gradient pattern going from blue - spraypaint blue&white - white.

This drawing is inspired from these outfits:

What do you think of her collection? To be honest sometimes I do miss such simplicity in fashion. Most fashion shows today are filled with rad outfits that we can only stare at, as beautiful as they are. But to actually see something that we can both adore and wear, it's definitely something. Thanks Rebecca!

Shoes, more shoes, they're everywhere!

So the other day, I went out to a mall with a friend (yes a mall, no matter how cliche it sounds). So to brighten up both our days, since being in a mall never helped with self esteem in any way, we decide to... HUNT SHOES! Really really hunt shoes. Like literally going to every shoe store in that place and put on everything possible. Below are the pics of our favorites, enjoy!

cute red sequin sneakers
Red sequin sneakers, they're actually in the children's section, it just so happens that they have the sneakers at large size, hallelujah

cute zebra sneakers
Zebra print sneakers, this one I ended up buying, yay!

black laces shoes
Black laces shoes

purple moccasins
They seem like ordinary purple moccasins, THEY'RE NOT! They're the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! Seriously

We'll definitely be shoe hunting again some other time. These were all taken at the stores. I'll definitely be posting more of the shoe hunt later :).

Mint vs Neon, Which Green Are You?

So the last few seasons "it" colors are mint green and neons. For some reason we never stray that much afar from those two colors now, don't we? Since the designers somehow decide to put one color as the boom color, we all follow. Not that I hate their choice, but it's just a view we need to look at, folks :)

Anyway, I'm not here to rebel against their choices, quite contrary actually. I want to lay out both greens on the table for all of us to look and admire. Here are some stuff I personally loooove, I'll write down where I found them (and the prices, so you wouldn't have a heart attack) below the pics. Enjoy!

Lime Green Vans, $39.99 at Shoebacca.com
Colette Envelope Clutch, $38.00 at NastyGal.com
Mint Hampton Cutout Shirt $26.60 at NastyGal.com
DIY (not by me) MINT CAKE, YAY!

Green Scuba Seamed Mini Dress, $48.99 at ArdenB.com
Patent Platform Sneaker, $145.00 at NastyGal.com
Electric Pop Messenger Bag, $58.00 at NastyGal.com
Pop Color Filgree Earrings, $9.50 at ArdenB.com

Those are some of my desires and recommendations. There are many more great stuff with high end brands, but then again they would be at higher end prices and... the rest is history. I really just list some of the stuff tht I find lovely and affordable with real money. Hope you enjoy it!

Cheers!

A Blast (of Elegance) from the Past

All of us have the urge to dig through our own closets from time to time right? Only to find remnants of our old self that was rather... stylishly disturbing (oh God those jeans), yet we never cease to amuse ourselves. We always smile at the idea that at one point of time, we used to wear something that our current selves find really hideous and once again, disturbing.

BUT, it's a different story when we dig up someone else's closet. We actually find bits of the person's past as we scramble through his or HER closet. In my case, it's my mom's. She's my guardian angel, the one person who actually cares and doesn't just send "GWS, I miss youuuu!!" text when I'm sick. We all know of our mothers' magic and we are grateful for them.

In my case, it's not just magic, it's probably a miracle, a paradise, her closet I mean -the person too, obviously- but her collection of handbags can only be describe with one word, "AWWWSOME"

Take a sneak peek:

Timeless clutches with long straps, some of the real treasures I found...

The real vintage Yves Saint Laurent

Vintage handbags
Maroon sling Aigner

vintage clutch
Brown Lanvin
These are the other gems I found, some have straps that are a little bit long as an ordinary shoulder handbag, but too short to be a cross body, well they are classic 90's handbags though.

Red Aigner tote bag

Black Dior

vintage black handbag
Black Nina Ricci, this one I particularly love

Black Gobelini, showed signs of wear

If you haven't already, start begging your mom for permission to dig up her closet. Even if you don't find anything that you can see yourself wearing (which I highly doubt), you can still have fun figuring out what kind of person she was before little brats like us -you and your siblings, if you have any- turn her world upside down!

The Dreamiest Shoes

Red and black, the color of sensuality. But for this one, I can't help but admire the elegance and cuteness as well. The high heels make them sassy, while the bow at the front tones the sexiness down. It's three elements -sensuality, elegance, mega cuteness- in two symmetrical awesomeness. I'm just saying here...

Pleaser Women's Seduce-218 - The Dreamiest Shoes

In case you're wondering, they're Pleaser Women's Seduce-218, I found it on Shoes.com for $54, AND I just learned that it's free shipping in United States. Sometimes some people just want to choke themselves...

Just sharing the perfect pair of shoes in my head. I need a fresh air now...

Let's Talk Shoes...

Shall we?
There are so many new birth of shoes that I honestly can't keep up with all of them. Seriously, you have to admit that there are so many kinds of shoes that you can't mention what they're called.

Most likely our basic knowledge of shoe types include flats, heels, sandals, wedges, and ... That's it. To me at least, that's as far as I know concerning shoes.

Soooo, my curiosity urges my to find out more about these new types of shoes so I won't miss out. *Note that some of these may not be new to you, but they are to me! Feel free to judge :)

Clog Heels, I'm pretty sure I've seen this kind a while back, but they seem to boom again lately, so I'll put it here
